Terms and Conditions
Our Guarantee to You:
Tubers will arrive with at least one eye and an intact neck and body. All tubers sold have been carefully grown and harvested by us on our own farm. Tubers come in all shapes and sizes--some are very large, some long and thin and some fairly small. Even small tubers grow to be healthy plants, so please do not judge a tuber by its size alone. We only send out tubers that we would be happy to receive ourselves! Thusly we will not give refunds based on size or cosmetic appearance of a tuber received.
Inspection and Contact:
Please inspect your tubers upon delivery and contact us within 48 hours if you have any concerns about what you have received. Be sure to include photos of any issues you encounter, as this helps us address your concerns more efficiently. After 48 hours days, we consider you to be satisfied with what you've received from us.
Please understand that we are not responsible for poor performance due to inclement weather, poor growing conditions, pests, negligence or suboptimal plant performance.
Storage and Care Instructions:
Once you receive your tubers and have inspected them, leave the bags open and store them in a cool, dry place until you no longer have freezing temperatures at night and are ready to plant outside. Do not leave them in an area that is below 40°. If they freeze they will die.
Dahlias do best when planted in soil that is an average of 60° Fahrenheit. Plant your tubers 4-5 inches deep with the sprout or eye facing up. If you do not see the sprout or accidentally plant the tuber with the sprout facing down, do not worry. The sprout will naturally reach up towards the sun and warmth. If you accidentally break the growing sprout before planting, fear not. Dahlias really want to live! In the event the main growing stem breaks off the tuber will send new sprouts in its place. This is completely normal.
Please Note:
While we strive to provide the best possible product, we cannot be held responsible for the care of the tubers once they are in your possession. This includes, but is not limited to, damages caused by pests, weather, poor growing conditions, or negligence. The successful growth of your dahlias will depend on your attention to their care and the environment in which they are grown.
Sales:
All sales are final, and orders cannot be modified or cancelled once payment has been accepted. As a small grower with limited stock, popular varieties may sell out quickly. Please note that items placed in your cart do not guarantee a reservation, and all sales are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Your order is only confirmed once payment has been completed.
In the rare event that a variety becomes unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances, we will notify you promptly and issue a full refund for the affected item.
Shipping:
All orders are shipped via USPS mail for a flat rate shipping fee of $15.00. You will receive an email with tracking information once your order has shipped. Please unpack your tubers immediately upon arrival. We are unable to accommodate combined orders at this time.
We only ship within the United States. Tuber orders start shipping in April after all danger of freezing temperatures has passed.
Local Pickup:
We do offer on-farm pickup for local customers. You may opt for local pickup at checkout by checking the "local pickup" box. Local pickup will be in April and you will receive an email with instructions.
Customers that require shipping after opting for local pickup will incur a $25 shipping and handling fee and orders will not be shipped until the shipping fee is paid.
Orders not picked up or shipped by May 15th will be considered abandoned and will be returned to stock. Refunds are not given for abandoned orders.
Sanitation Practices:
All tools are disinfected between plants when cutting flowers and dividing tubers to help minimize the potential risk of spreading viral and bacterial diseases. The plants are consistently monitored throughout the season and preventative measures are taken by actively removing any plants that look unhealthy.
Even with all of these safeguards in place, we recognize that dahlia plants can be infected with a virus and show no symptoms, and that the American Dahlia Society estimates that anywhere from 40%-85% of all dahlia stock carries one or more viruses. By purchasing our dahlia tubers, you accept that there is no guarantee against dahlia virus and we do not refund for dahlias that appear infected in your garden.
Limits Per Household:
There will be limits placed on some of the more popular varieties to give everyone a fair and equal chance of growing them. A refund will be issued for any orders that goes over the limited amount.
